Deed: 124 acres land
This indenture made this 17th day of October 1818 between John Rudolph
of Montgomery Co. TN of the one part and Simon Heflin of the county and
state informed of the other part witness that for and in consideration
of the sum of 154 dollars to him paid by _____ hereby acknowledged has
bargained to imon Heflin has his heirs forever all that parcel and tract
of land situated as follows: beginning at a white oake, Rudolph's north
East Corner then south one hundred twenty four foats (?) to a white oake
at Edward Jets corner then west one hundred and sixty foats to ….line a
black oake and dogwood then north with said line one hundred and twenty
four foats to the corner then east 160 foats to the beginning,
containing 124 acres more or less to have and to hold with the said
Simon Heflin his heirs and assigns forever …to the said land. Therewith
belonging or >>>> apertaining to the said Rudolph his heirs and
executors administrators and assigns do hereby agree to and with the
said Simon Heflin (et al) that the aforesaid tract of land …he will
forever defend against all lawful claimers both in law and equity.

This indenture made this 22nd day of April in the year of our Lord 1837
between Agness Heflin of the county of Montgomery and the state of
Tennessee of this one part and Simon Heflin of the county and state
aforesaid…witness the said Agnes Heflin for and in consideration of the
sum of 21 dollars in hand paid whereby is acknowledged hath granted
bargain sold and confirmed and by these presents doth grant bargain unto
the said Simon Heflin his heirs or assignees my part of the tract of
land that I now live on…

Deed 68 acres
I, Thomas Foust, have this day bargained and sold and do hereby transfer
and convey to John Heflin his heirs forever for $100 paid a tract of
land in the state of Tennessee, Montgomery County and district number
10, containing by estimation 68 acres be the same more or less and
bounded as follows: Beginning at a small ash in Boyd's line, running
south 21 poles to a dogwood, last 262 poles to a stake in Weakley's
line, north 21 poles, to a large hickory Dye's corner, west 44 poles to
2 small maples, then 22 links to a white oak, west 9 poles to the
beginning.

Know men by these presents that we Joseph G. Rust, Philip Mason and Mara
(?) Houseworth are tied and firmly bound unto G.B. Farmer and John
Heflin the sum of $3,000 for the payment of which we bind ourselves sold
to G.B. Farmer and Heflin a tract of land in District number 5, on norh
fork of McAdoo Creek and being part of tract originally granted to James
McCroroy heir of Thomas McCrory to William Fort and by William Fort to
Isaac Brown and by Isaac Brown to James Mason who is the ancestor of the
undersigned [descr. of tract of land]
Heflin and Farmer paid 300 dollars and 200 due January 1, 1854, 200 due
January 1, 1855, 200 January 1, 1856.
James Mason died without will and Joseph Mason, Phillip Mason, Maria
Houseworth and Gina (?) Patterson were his only heirs at law, Joseph
Mason purchased Gina (?Sara) Patterson's interest on May 30, 1853.

John Heflin
For and in consideration of services rendered work and labour done in
taking care of and supporting me and my wife and the taking care of me
and my wife the remainder of my life, I hereby sell and transfer and
convey unto John Heflin, my son, his heirs and assigns for ever the
following tract and parcel of land lying and being in Montgomery Co., TN
District number 15 and bounded as follows: Beginning at a white oak,
running thence north 45 degrees east 36 poles to a black oak thence
north 56 degrees west 36 poles to a small white oak…about 134 acres to
have and to hold the same to the said John Heflin his heirs and assigns
forever I covenant with said John Heflin

November 19, 1856 received of John Heflin $1100 which is in full pay for
a negro woman Edith and her child Dilane age about 19 years, the child
about 2 years, I have sold to John Heflin an I do warrant the health
both in body and mind which are slaves for life right and title of the
above negroes to have and to hold the same John Heflin his heirs and
assigns.
